Serengeti West has been an established member of the American Gem Trade Association since 1992. AGTA is a non-profit professional trade association committed to serving the colored gemstone industry. Founded in 1981, AGTA has 350 members across 44 states and Canada. Before qualifying for membership, AGTA members must maintain office in North America for at least five years.

Colored gemstone dealers abide by the Association's Code of Ethics and Principles of Fair Business Practices, holding AGTA members to a stricter disclosure policy than required by the Federal Trade Commission. The Code of Ethics and Principles of Fair Business Practices requires AGTA members to disclose gemstone treatments on all memorandums and/or commercial documents at the point of sale.
